Go back to school with a difference

It might be in a gallery, but the The Haywood Wide Open School is not an art school. It is a month-long “experiment in learning”, with classes devised by over 100 artists from 40 different countries.

The school is set to be a wide-ranging forum where artists lead workshops, collaborative projects and performances about any subject. Disciplines range from history to physics and anthropology to economics, with topics from art boxing or a spot of Queer Home Economics it will certainly be worth checking out the wide range of events.

Highlights include:

Painting class: Action and Gesture – Class 1: Attack
In this class run by artists you can apply styles of boxing to making paintings using two core strategies – attack and defence.

Words and Music
Martin Creed hosts an evening of talk, songs, and dance, with questions from the audience.
