Little Joe magazine is back with their pretty fantastic A Little Film Club, the monthly screening programme in London supported by Film London’s new Community Pilot Fund scheme.
This month brings artist Cindy Sherman’s first and only feature film, Office Killer. The 1997 film is a delightfully perverse caricature of how staff downsizing and the introduction of email drive mousy secretary Dorine (Carol Kane) to start murdering her colleagues. We’re alrady hooked. Featuring chain-smoking, power-suits and Molly Ringwald, Office Killer is a ‘90s comedy gem waiting to be retrieved from cinema’s spam folder.
The night kicks off with drinks at The Rio from 11pm and an office party (venue tbc) after the screening.
A Little Film Club alternates between The Cinema Museum in Kennington and The Rio cinema in Dalston and develops the concept of Little Joe magazine into an unique space for the exhibition and discussion of films that inspire alternative discourse. Incorporating an eclectic programme of films mapping the subterranean queer canon of cinema, the screenings are complimented by extended introductions, discussions and social events.
