We love the Queen of Hoxton. Is there another pub that puts on so many events that make us smile?
Tonight sees the launch of its latest venture – the Hoxton Ukulele Jam. Yes, you read that right, a night of Ukulele magic.
It matters not a jot if you’re not exactly a Uke-maestro either, as all are welcome from expert right down to novice. If you are an avid player get on down and don’t forget to bring your instrument with you. If, like us, you’re between Ukuleles, you can borrow one at the pub for a returnable £20 deposit.
The Hootenanny is set to become a Tuesday night regular and potential jammers are advised to arrive between 18.00 and 18.30.
Experts will be walking around to ensure instruments are tuned and offer advice to beginners.
The fruits of your labour will finally be revealed at 21.00 when everyone comes together for the big sing and play along.
We have no idea about any play list but would we be getting overly optimistic in hoping for a combination of Nirvana and George Formby?
The Hootenanny is free to join in, and organisers are giving away a free slice of home made pizza with your first drink. Sadly the event won’t be taking place in the rooftop Wig-Wam.
If you find yourself hooked on after this evening and wanted your very own instrument, we can recommend that you pay a visit to the brilliantly named Duke of Uke in Bethnal Green.
If you fancy coming along RSVP on the pub’s Facebook page.
