Marni at H&M: a match made in fashion heaven

For London, high street shopping doesn’t get more exciting than a great collaboration. This week sees the opening of Marni’s collection at H&M on Thursday March 8.

The Italian fashion house has been creating beautiful womenswear since its opening in 1994 – and menswear since 2007 – becoming the go-to place for timeless but eclectic pieces. The collaboration with H&M brings Marni’s high fashion quality to the high street and is composed of elegant items selected by Marni’s creative director and founder, Consuelo Castiglioni. “I wanted to create a true Marni wardrobe by revisting all our favourite pieces in signature fabrics and prints,” says Consuelo.

The idea is that everything goes with everything, allowing a huge range of dressing up possibilities. From classic but sporty parkas, to feminine, richly patterned dresses; as well as structured leather jackets to quirky, bold accessories. For men, classic cuts and shapes are teamed with bold colours and patterns. The pieces are characteristically Marni, maintaining exquisite design, craftsmanship and attention to detail – but at high street prices.

The collection will be available to buy from selected H&M stores in London (including Selfridges) from 9am on Thursday. To avoid disappointment, Scout London recommends leaving at least an hour for queuing. Due to high demand, Selfridges will be allocating wristbands on a first come, first serve basis with a limitation of items to buy per person.
