Pizza Express Charing Cross closed for refurbishment

Scout London was surprised to see that our old standby for a restaurant visit with the parents, Pizza Express on the Strand, is closed for refurbishment until 14 October 2011. We note this temporary closing as this particular branch of Pizza Express is legendary in Scout circles – perfect for first dates, break-ups, aforementioned family visits and the obligatory birthday meal.

To be honest the decor was looking a bit dated and it is probably time for a refurbishment. If the family is in town and you need a good space to tell them you are broke/moving/gay/an alien, the St Martins Lane branch is open and only four minutes away.
